Before I had my baby, I wasn’t sure how much I’d really use my Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier. I had a cloth Moby wrap, too, and thought I would end up using that far more often. I practiced wrapping my Moby around me and carrying stuffed animals around the house in it to get used to it and thought “this is great!”
Well, now that my baby girl is here, I can see that I was totally wrong! I tried using the Moby wrap a few times, and since my girl was nearly 9 pounds at birth, carrying her in a cloth wrap just did not feel secure. I constantly worried she’d fall out or droop down too far. It wasn’t worth the hassle of worrying for me - or the hassle of tying that dang thing around me.
So I broke out my Ergobaby Omni 360. Total game changer! I LOVE this thing, and would put it up there in my list of absolute must haves for newborns.

You can start using the Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier once your baby is at least 7 pounds. That’s pretty tiny! But this carrier is so versatile, you can adjust it to grow with your baby, all the way up to 45 pounds. Talk about getting some bang for your buck!
There are easy ways to place your baby in the carrier facing you, or facing away from you once they get a little bigger, so they can explore the outside world.
Getting into this carrier is simple - you just snap it around your waist, adjust it so it’s tight, plop baby in, and pull each shoulder strap onto your shoulders before buckling the snap behind your neck. To me, this is SO much easier than any other carrier I’ve used! I could do it in my sleep (if that were somehome safe).
I’d go as far as to say that if you have the Ergobaby Omni 360, this is the ONLY carrier you’ll need. Forget all those others out there on the market. This carrier is great for so many uses.
Here are 6 of my favorite ways to use my Ergobaby Omni 360 with my little one.
Taking Walks Outside
This is the intended use I was thinking of for this carrier when I first got it. I imagined buckling my baby into this carrier for some nice strolls outside.
It has worked phenomenally for this purpose! I’ve taken my baby girl on lots of walks in the Ergobaby Omni 360 and never once had to fear her falling out or being in danger. She sits comfortably in this carrier throughout the whole walk, even if it’s over an hour long. I can feel her little chest rising and falling against me, and look down to see her tiny happy face. She’s even close enough to kiss!
When it’s a bit chilly outside, I put my baby in the Ergobaby Omni 360 with just my regular clothes on, then put a big heavy jacket on and zip her up in there. My body heat, plus the jacket, helps to keep her warm on the walk. Of course, I leave the top open so that she gets plenty of air to breathe.
Walks outside aren’t the only thing the Ergobaby Omni 360 is great for, though! Wait, there’s more!
Getting Things Done Around The House
This carrier is the ONLY thing that allows me to get ANYTHING done around the house. My baby is great about sleeping in her crib at night, but during the day all she wants is to be held.
It is reeeeeeeally hard to wash the dishes, do the laundry, and cook dinner one handed because you’re holding the baby with the other. The Ergobaby Omni 360 allows me to carry my baby around so she’s content, while having both hands free to tidy up and do whatever housework I have.
Plus, wearing your baby on you regularly throughout the day is good for helping your milk supply and bonding with your baby.
I love that the Ergobaby Omni 360 is designed ergonomically, so it distributes the weight of the baby evenly over your shoulders and back. I can wear my baby several hours a day without discomfort or pain. Clearly, you don’t want to overdo it, but you’ll likely find that you can carry your baby longer in this carrier than any other carrier, much more comfortably.
Calming Baby Down
When I first got this carrier, I had no idea how much of a lifesaver it would be for an inconsolable baby. My little girl tends to have a fussy time each night, and it can be super difficult to calm her down. One night when I was at my wit’s end, I decided to put her in the Ergobaby Omni 360 and see if that might somehow calm her down, since she loved being in it so much.
And it WORKED! I got my girl in the carrier, plopped a pacifier in her mouth, and walked her around the house. Within 15 minutes, she calmed down and fell right to sleep. This still works consistently as an easy way to soothe her and put her to sleep.
I think the way the carrier hugs her back and supports her, while holding her close to me and allowing me to move her gently, reminds her of being in the womb. It calms her down so well, better than anything else I’ve found.
I am SO glad that I have a trick up my sleeve to calm my baby down whenever needed, thanks to the Ergobaby Omni 360.
Shopping With Baby
Have you ever gone shopping and seen a mom struggling to carry her baby into a store in a heavy, awkward infant car seat, along with her purse, the diaper bag, and a plethora of other items? Maybe you’ve been that mom.
There’s a solution to this!
To me, it’s so much easier to put my baby in the Ergobaby Omni 360 and take her into stores right on me. This way, I have both hands free to carry whatever I need to have with me until we get to a cart. I can easily push a cart while my baby is on me in her carrier, while having the whole cart available for the items I’m going to buy rather than having to waste most of the cart space with an infant car seat.
Really, how can you grocery shop with your baby in their car seat? Who has room for all of their weekly grocery items next to that big bulky thing?
The Ergobaby Omni 360 makes shopping with a baby so much easier.
Keeping Baby Safe From Germs
Along the same lines, going shopping with a baby (especially during a pandemic) can be very scary because there are lots of people out there who don’t respect personal space. I have literally had someone come up to my baby and touch her face without even asking…
So if you want to prevent random people from helping themselves to your baby while shopping, you’ll find the Ergobaby Omni 360 to be really helpful.
When your baby is in a structured carrier strapped right up against you, facing you, it’s nearly impossible for anyone to come to close to them. I will often put my baby on me in the carrier and then put a big zip up sweater over her, and most people can’t even tell that there’s a baby in there. It just looks like I’m still pregnant!
If you’re looking for a way to have some peace of mind bringing your baby into necessary public places during a pandemic, this carrier is so worth it.
Last but not least, the Ergobaby Omni 360 is great for traveling. Now I’m sure there aren't many of us doing much traveling at this moment in time, but it’s nice to look towards the future, right?
This carrier is light and easy to take with you wherever you may go. I can imagine it would be great for airplane traveling, because you could easily carry your baby around with you in the airport, and then store it in your carry-on bag when you don’t need it.
It can be folded or rolled up pretty small, so you could even throw this carrier in a large purse to bring with you on any future adventures. Again, it’s SO much lighter and more portable than an infant car seat or even a stroller.
All in all, the Ergobaby Omni 360 is a great investment. It’s a baby product you’ll use often, possibly even daily like I do! It will last for a long, long time as it grows with your baby and is made of excellent quality materials. You will not be disappointed!
