What's In My Hospital Bag?
Updated: Nov 12, 2020
Now that I’m at the 30-week mark in my pregnancy, I’m in full-blown baby prep mode. I’ve been finishing up the nursery, getting our home ready, and even packing my hospital bag! I’ve done lots of thinking about what I’ll really need and use during my hospital stay, and this is what I’ve come up with.
You may ask, is 30 weeks too early to pack your hospital bag? Honestly, I don’t think there’s such a thing as “too early” when it comes to baby prep. If you’re only at 20 weeks and feeling motivated to pack a hospital bag, then why not? At least you’ll have lots of time to add things as you think of them.

If you’re beyond 30 weeks and haven’t started packing your hospital bag yet, that’s fine too! Maybe you’d rather wait until you’re closer to your due date, or just haven’t had the time to even think about it yet. While you’ll probably want to pack your bag at least a couple of weeks before your due date, you do you and pack it when you’re feeling good and motivated to do so. Make the most of those nesting modes you get into, and pack your hospital bag when you’re feeling it.
Anyway, let’s get into what’s in my hospital bag! I hope this will help you as you decide what to pack in yours, too.
I’ve packed everything for baby and me in one backpack style bag. I wanted to keep myself in check and not pack way too much stuff that will just end up creating confusion and clutter.
My husband will have his own duffel bag with everything he’ll need for a few days.
Before packing, check out what your hospital will be providing for you. Ours will provide diapers, diaper cream, a hospital-grade breast pump, and postpartum supplies for me.

In packing my hospital bag, I did my best to pack EVERYTHING I could ahead of time, so that I will have very few things to grab as we’re heading out the door. We also have our carseat already installed, ready to go for the big day!
The less you have to worry about when you’re in labor, the better. So get that hospital bag packed! And have fun getting excited for your little bundle of joy to make his/her grand entrance into the world.
