I had thought for the longest time that I was having a boy. All the way up to my 20-week ultrasound (halfway through my pregnancy), my intuition told me that my baby was a “he.”
Well, as it turns out, baby is a “she!” And I am so excited. Here are my biggest reasons why:
1. Cute Clothes
Baby girl clothes are SO adorable! (I’ve already splurged on some.) The little tutus, colorful onesies, sparkly shoes, and brightly printed pants make me so excited to dress my baby girl once she’s here.
Also, with baby girl outfits, there seem to be a lot more options than there are for boys. It’s going to be fun dressing her up like a little doll.
2. A Mini Me
I’ve always dreamed about having a daughter who looks somewhat like me and maybe even acts like me.
Having a smaller version of myself sounds like a lot of fun!
3. Big Sister Sweetness
I had a big brother growing up, so I had imagined that having a boy first would be ideal. But the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of my little girl being a big sister one day and being mommy’s helper with the new baby.
I’m excited to get to see her care for her younger siblings someday.
4. Girls’ Days
I had a lot of fun with my mom when I was growing up and we would have girls’ days. We’d go get pedicures, go shopping, or go out to lunch.
I can’t wait to have girls’ days with my daughter!
5. Mommy’s Best Friend
I know that I have to cherish the days I have with my daughter, because she will grow up way too fast. When she does grow up, I hope that we’ll be lifelong friends. I’ll be there for her throughout her life, long after she grows up and moves out.
I am so looking forward to the many memories we’ll make together.
Love you, baby girl.
